2011 Soccer Season
A new year, a new season of the Free Reformed Soccer League.
We are very thankful for an extremely successful season last year that saw over 500 players take part in our competition. This year, with the blessing of the Lord, we hope to be able to build on that success and provide an even better season for players, family and friends to enjoy.
Much of the initial important information regarding the new season has been collated into a full colour brochure (PDF, 2.03Mb). For the most current information regarding the league, you can keep up to date via this website.

Return Your Soccer Jersey

Applicable Divisions: Junior Boys, Junior Girls, Senior Women, Senior Men
There are a number of Junior and Senior division soccer jerseys from the 2011 season that have not yet been returned to the FRSL. We urgently need these returned so they can be collated for use in season 2012.
If you are still in posession of your jersey, it is critical that you return it to one of the drop-off locations below, as soon as possible:

(please place jersey in the box in front of the garage)

If you have lost your jersey throughout the season, please inform the FRSL immediately via email.
Please Note: Micro and Mini division players are not required to return their jerseys.
Position Vacant: FRSL Secretary

The FRSL is currently searching for a suitable person to fill the position of Secretary with the Free Reformed Soccer League Executive Committee. The main duties of the role include:
- Attending Executive Committee meetings
- Keeping accurate minutes of Executive Committee meetings
- Collecting FRSL mail from the post office
- Placing notices in appropriate publications regarding League issues
Ideally, the role would be filled by a current or future player within the Senior Women's league, so that the person can also act as a representative for that division. However, other females (or males) within the FRC community are also encouraged to apply.
The role commences November 22, 2011.

Senior Men's A & B Division Proposal

This year, members of the FRSL have petitioned that the Executive Committee consider a future split of the Senior Men's Division into an A and a B division. We have received a lot of suggestions regarding this potential change and believe such a change could be beneficial to the Senior Men's Division. It is envisaged that the two divisions would be segregated as follows:
- Players accustomed to (or with the preference of) playing a more fast-paced game, would register for the A division (a competitive division with training).
- Players accustomed to (or with the preference of) playing a slower-paced and less-competitive game, would register for the B division (social division).
Currently the FRSL Executive Committee is considering the feasibilty of such a change and the best methods for implementing it. If it is found to be feasible, we are really keen to have this split division structure in place for season 2012. Our current idea is that the preference to play A or B division would be given in the 2012 registration forms, allowing players to choose which division they would prefer to play in. A 'changing division' option is also being considered, where during the first three to four weeks of the season, players can choose to change between A or B divisions if they so desire.
As an Executive body representing the FRSL members, we have by no means made a decision regarding this matter. As in all things we do, our aim is to develop and further improve the level and quality of soccer within our league, while at the same time maintaining the social atmosphere and good communion of saints. We believe that this change has the potential to improve our league and still enable every Senior Men's player to be involved in soccer. At the same time though, it will encourage a higher, more challenging level of soccer.
By way of this notice, we are calling out to you as members of the FRSL to give you the opportunity to express your thoughts and feedback on the proposal. You can do this by contacting the FRSL Executive Committee via email or speaking with a committee member in person.
